Franconia’s network of bicycle trails takes you through beautiful nature and offers fabulous touring routes for families, and recreational as well as fast riders.

The river bike trails are particularly well suited for families with children. Especially the Altmühltal Bike Trail and the Regnitz River Trail offer magnificent scenery without any significant climbing. Plus, there are important cultural and historical highlights along the route. An absolute highlight among bike trails is the Main River Bicycle Trail. Ambitious cyclist can follow the Main River from its sources at the Red and White Main River all the way to the Rhine River. Along the way, the trail leads through Bamberg, Aschaffenburg, and Frankfurt am Main for a truly unique cycling experience.For mountain bikers, there are many technical trails in the Fichtelgebirge Mountains, the Franconian Switzerland, in the Frankenwald Forest, as well as in the Rhön region and the Spessart Forest.
